I spent Thursday to Saturday working on the boat, but couldn't take the beautiful day Sunday and just had to get out.
I should have taken it as a sign when the crew of Thomas' parasail boat came flying into Fisherman's for some gear and took off in a big hurry.
We were going to do some inshore falsies on light tackle and play around with some new gear, but didn't quite get to our spot.
Bluefish were exploding through showers of bait. A quick rig out and ZZZZZZZZZZ. People were using shad rigs, jigs, etc. etc. It was a full-on frenzy. I'll never tire of it.
While all the rigs were working, I would mention that gunning a boat on top of the fish and stopping was determined not to be the best technique and a killer blitz got pushed down and around quite a bit more than it should have been.
We moved off the tiny grouping of boats and sat long enough for people to stop chasing us - then we got on our own bait ball and had beautiful afternoon.
I can see it's dangerous for you, but if the government trusts me, maybe you could.

Nice report and pic...bust'n blues is an awesome sight. Sad to hear that proper boating etiquette was not observed by all. I remember about 10+ years ago similar scenario and the damn fools were running through the fish, dip nets on each side of the boat trying to scoop them up...ruined it for everyone!
Ha that's nuts. Yeah it was a small group of boats that could have gone to town with a little care.
Oh well, I guess people get excited. It was full-on Shark Week stuff. Fish clearing out of the water next to the boat, chomping below the surface, bait spraying in balls and making the sound you only get from a fleeing shoal.
