Excellent Striper Trip Sat chunking the Bay/Caveman Sportfishing

We had Terrrence Terifay, Terence McGoven and Dennis Congdon out for a Saturday afternoon chunking trip on the Delaware Bay yesterday on the HOOKED UP I.
We did not have any sharks or skates the whole trip and only one bluefish. We were in 39 feet of water with 49-50 degree water temps and decent water clarity. We were about a mile from where we fished earlier this week and had a very nice catch of stripers all over 40 inches. The fish were a little smaller than the ones we caught on our last trip chunking but did have some nice ones 25-30 lbs plus mixed in the catch. The fish are spread out over a large area and we picked this location due to amount of bunker we saw on our fishfinder mostly. There were a few boats anchored by us but left before the bite really turned on for us about 3:00 pm on the outgoing tide. There were no drop-offs or edges where we fished but lots of bait. The stripers were biting much like drum with just a tap tap on the rod tip and the guys missed some before getting the technique down which Capt Kobey taught them and from then on it was pretty much non-stop action with very few missed fish. We could have caught many many more yesterday as we had the bite going when we left at sunset with our limit and the tide was still running. Last night I heard some boats did real well on the incoming in he morning and others did not. We will be out this morning later (Sunday) and see if we can do as well as it was our day yesterday but that does not mean too much as every trip is different. We will see how today's trip works out. I want to thank Capt Kobey Treadwell from Bunker Head Charters for working with me on this trip and without Capt Kobey's expertise in chunking we would never had such a good catch. Capt Kobey really knows his stuff when it comes to chunking for stripers and personally have never fished with anyone that does it any better than Capt Kobey. We also plan to have Capt Kobey join us in Morehead City, NC on the new 55 HOOOKED UP in a few weeks for giant bluefin tuna after he finishes his late fall striper trips on his boat. Great group of guys, nice weather and a real nice catch and what else could you ask for. This was the only our third striper trip of the fall season and do have open dates over the Thanksgiving Holidays and all next week for those interested in striper fishing with us. We expect some really good fishing on the Cape May rips coming up soon around the full moon Nov 24 with the hard running tides and we have been rips fishing for over 20 years and are available if you perfer this type of striper fishing over chunking the bay. We do it all.
