Drum, Bass, Fluke & Makos
Its gonna be a tough weekend for the fluke tournys I think! Alot of the local spots were hit by the commercial boats earlier in the week. I know the fluke boats are doen with their qoutas, but the other guys have been dredging the hot spots and killing alot of fish.
Find the rough bottom that they cant dredge, thats the best advice to give anyone. There are still alot fo bass out front and the drum have made a great showing recently! Drum in the 50lb clas are not uncommon at all! Use clams for them.
The bay is still showing some nice 2-3lb blues, soem smaller bass, and the fluke are here too.
The surf reports are not bad at all with some quality fish being weighed in our shop. Alot of 20-25lb fish being caught. Fluke Spoons, sand eel type lures and swimmers are getting them for some of the pluggers.
Some Mako's and Threshers being caught now too on that 20 fathom line. The water is clean right now and the temps are perfect for these species along with soem Blue fin Tuna! We have had reports of them, but I have made 2 trips with no sign of them yet! Still, I know they have been caught!
