Double Whammy! High Rise and Eastern Shore

Last night I departed my house in Poquoson at 1900hrs and went straight for the High Rise at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. It was a little sloppy out with some three and four footers at the mouth of the bay. I trolled for three hours and caught and released one 30" slot fish and kept one nice 38" Striped Bass. Back home at 2330.
Left my house this morning at 0700hrs and topped off the Grady then headed to the Eastern Shore - not too far from Plantation Light. I drifted eels for two hours and caught two nice Stripers a 40" and a 42", kept the 42. Both fish were caught in 50 foot of water with the eel at about 20 feet down. Water temp was about 48 deg. I was back home by 1100 hrs. Two great trips! Both fish had menhaden and eels in them.
On a side note, tomorrow from 0700-0900hrs I am going to guest host for Don Lancaster on his radio show "Fishing Tidewater" while he is on vacation. It is on WPMH 670 AM. You can also listen online WPMH AM 670. I will have as my guest Craig Freeman, president of the Bull Island Anglers Club. He is also the owner of Back River Rods Home. I will be reading some fishing reports and taking calls at (757) 465-6700. Should be fun! Here are some pictures from today. The birds were in my backyard while I was cleaning fish.

I gotta say....you take some nice pics.
    Pretty fish too.

Question for you....why do you use that offset J hook eeling? Ever tried an Octopus circle or a true circle? I like the offset J's for freelining big Croakers or spot to em...but I prefer the smaller circles for eeling. Don't matter....You caught some fine looking fish.
I see you took the Grady in the cold. Can't say I blame you. The Baldies showed last week behind our house. How long have they been in your backyard?
