Doris Mae IV weekly report 10/31
We just got in from our Thursdays 30 hour trip (my Birthday by the way). It was our biggest trip of the year, we boated 71 tuna, 70% Long Fin (35 to 50lbs) 30 % Yellow Fin (20 to 30lbs). Last year our November trips were the best, looks like a repeat of last year! Updated 10/23/09 We started out good on our Thursdays trip, we had one angler who limited out and a few others with two yellow Fin. The largest Yellow Fin was around 50 pounds. We also caught some Tile Fish. The weather really got bad after that and Im sure that was our problem the rest of the trip, mother nature has not been kind to us this year. please click on link for more detailed info http://www.unitedboatmen.com/ Updated 10/13/09 Our Friday nights trip was canceled due to high winds, the Saturday night trip (10/10/09) was very good, we had 41 tuna, all Yellow Fin except for 2 Long Fin, (40 and 50Lb) . Most of the fish were caught on jigs. We also had a 250 pound Sword Fish. On our Sunday nights trip we had no night bite at all, around 8am we started picking away at mostly Long Fin but a few Yellow fin were also caught. All except on tuna they were 50 to 60 plus pounds. We had 17 tuna but we lost quite a few, the only way we could get them to bite was with 40 or 50 pound test leaders which led to a lot of break offs as you can well imagine. |
