Costa Rica inshore

me and my friend Jake Emche are going to rent kayaks on the beach in quepos and fish around some large rocks that are close to the beach.
i was wondering if any one has fished around rocks in Costa Rica that are close to shore and what do you recommend we use?

I was down there last January, and though we were south of there at Dominical, we were catching big cubera and rooser on bridled livies. I'd pack a couple sabikis and try to get a livie or two. If that doesn't work, we were catching some on butterfly jigs as well- but be prepared to lose some with all of the rocks

Jakes dad brought some tackle down, he is already down there and i think he brought some jigs we will have to give them a try

Are you planning on doing any surf fishing? I think I might try to bring down some stuff to hit the river mouths too.

I do not think we will i wish we could stay longer but we are only going down for a week.

haha yeah hopefully fishing is good my dad and jim and gunnar zorn caught 4 sails and a black marlin today
