Not that this report will really do anybody any good since the next 2 days will be blow days but here it is. got to the 3/4 island area late morning after no luck whatsoever at york spit. Good quality sized fish throughout the day, not a steady constant bite but they were there for the patient troller. first fish caught in between the 3rd rocks and the green nav buoy for the island....36" fish in the box. then over to the 4th ocean side, a few more fish 30-33 were caught....it pained us to throw back....fat fish, nice fish what a shame. then along came a 27.75 inch fish, in the box it went. rounded out the day with another fish over 34". i have a feeling after this cold hits the area and we get some strong north winds it will be "katy bar the door" around the tunnel this sunday into next week!! i hope.....Today, The wx was perfect, good thing the wx man was wrong about the timing of the west wind kicking in late day. beautiful sunny calm day on the water for the Walker Party. thanks again James for bringing your crew down, hope to see you again soon. Lure tip of the day, 6" storm in mid water, not deep. also interesting note only one fish had a full stomach...small trout, big surprise, the others were empty.
Somehow we still have this Sunday open for another CBBT trip for anyone interested, please pass along, call or email me.
Glad that you found fish. Buckwheat and Mountain Man went out for a 1/2 day trip with on 22" @ 42. They said the radio did not sound good in the bay until a later day bite when they headed in. I did hear of large groups of Gannets diving in front of Rudee with decent fish caught. Getting to that time. Glad you pulled off a respectable day.
