The striper fishing has been excellent to say the least. This has been the best start to the bass season we have had in many years. Large schools of migrating stripers have invaded Raritan Bay. The bait is in thick with the stripers right behind them. We have been live-lining and chunking bunker for the last week. This method has been a good producer. The stripers are any where from 32 inches to 32 lbs.. This best part is the local fishing in the protected waters of Raritan Bay which is only a 29 min. ride to the fishing grounds. We have been leaving the dock 5:30 a.m. and cast netting our live bunker every trip. The early bird always catches the worm.

There also some hungry blue fish in the bay. These are nice size blues from 6 to 14 lbs., what a fight. In short there is a lot of action between the bass and blues with not much time to get bored. This is a great way to introduce youngsters into the sport of fishing. A short ride, lots of action and calm waters. Don't miss out on one of the runs of stripe bass on the entire East Coast. This run will continue through the month of May in Raritan Bay. When June rolls around we will start fishing the ocean. This is also a good time to land a real trophy bass 40lb. and an occasionally a 50.
It doesn't last all year, but it will last until early July.
Good luck.
