Sit down Shut up And fish
Captain Billy’s Charters 2/23
VIRGINIA BEACH
We've had some great fishing this week. The fish are moving constantly. This probably means that they are putting that last "feed bag" on before heading up the bay for the spawning run.
We had some really large fish bending the poles on Saturday. There were some fish pressing against the 50 pound mark for the charters. It sure is a nice feeling to be able to catch and release big fish and hope for a chance at a big un' that will earn a citation for the wall.
The fish have gotten larger on my last two trips...(or is it that I have just been in the 'right' school of fish ?) If the catch is awesome...the captain takes credit.... If the catch is less than desireable...there is a book of excuses that will be stated clearly as to not in any way cause you to think that the captain had anything to do with the disappointment. Ha...you liked that one didn't you?
This ocean season may last for a week or so but I'm going to be giving the fish a break at the end of this week and won't harrass them until April 19th when the trophy season begins in Maryland waters.
I'm sure that the fishing will continue to go well until the end of the month. I am trying to get in a few offshore drop trips for the tilefish, grouper and sea bass. (weather permitting) If you would like to take a trip offshore give me a call and we will show you a little different perspective on ocean fishing.
Catch up with y'all again soon.
