Cape May Reef 07/15/10
OK my Fellow Enthusiasts. As of Yesterday (07/15/10) The Cape May Reef is producing Large #'s of Sea Bass! Many just under the legal limit of 12 1/2 in. Frustrating? kinda. The Good news is, I also boated 7 keepers all over 14 in. 2 of them were 16in. give or take a 16th of an inch. The flounder were pretty much non existent, but 1 short. I was using A combo of Squid strips with a minnow and clam strips. Both were very affective.
I fished the central drifting area throughout the day. Also There is a lot of bait-fish flapping at the top of the water, So who knows what that might bring.
BEWARE!
The Water at the reef is loaded with those little stinging jellies. They are small, Potent & so thick that you can barely see a clean piece of water under you. Strands of the jellies get caught on your line as you real your line back and will splatter on you & you will feel the sting!
