Cape May Marlin & Tuna Club Memorial Day Tournament
This years Memorial day weekend tournament should be a great time. We've got a good number of boats lined up and expect to see more members joining this event at the captains meeting.
Last weeks Drum tournament brought out a good number of boats and a great number of fish. Congratulations to Big Game with their 82lb Drum.
Captains meeting for the Memorial Day tournament is Friday night May 23, with fishing through Sunday noon on a multi-species event, and a cookout 4pm for participants.

Rumor has it
Sounds like Covert Mission landed another big drum yesterday and Dream may have pulled in a 40lb'ish striper. All talk on the radio...we'll find out today, slips are due by 4 for this weekends tournament.

Great Fishing For The Cape May Marlin & Tuna Club Memorial Day Tournament
18 boats participated in this year’s Cape May Marlin and Tuna Club Memorial Day tournament targeting drum, striper, bluefish and flounder. Fishing started Friday night following a captains meeting and continued through high noon on Sunday. Most of the teams focused their efforts in the Delaware bay where the holiday weekend brought hundreds of boats from around the region to find some excellent fishing. There was a lot of activity at the scales including Covert Mission, who followed last week’s win with a strong showing of drumfish at 72 and 70 lbs placing them in 2nd & 3rd, but the primary species win ultimately went to Eldon Poole’s Ditch Digger with angler David Wiscott (shown here) who landed an 81.4 lb drum Sunday morning. Dreamer captured 1st place striper with a very nice 37 lb fish, Serenity pulled in a flounder at 3.5 lbs to win that category and Raging Bull parted from the fleet to venture 30 miles eastward of our island to bring home the Bluefish win at 12 lbs. Participants gathered for a tournament buffet and awards at the Marlin and Tuna club where, under a freshly raised flag, the event was celebrated and the men and women that serve our country were appreciated and remembered.

The clubs next tournament will be June 20th when member boats equipped with heavy gear, big baits, and the hopes of finding monster shark, will venture well off the coast to compete in the annual Shark / Tuna tournament.
