    Fishing this week turned out to be surprisingly good.
    Striped bass, tog, perch, and the “early” arrival of blue fish made for an interesting period.
    Early in the week, Bill Troehler and crew fished the Delaware Bay and bagged several bass the largest was 33 inches and weighed 11.5 pounds. All the fish were caught on fresh clams. Later in the week Teddy Gill fished the Beesley’s Point Bridge and bagged a 9.75 pound striper again on clams.
    Keith Zaid on his boat “Plastic Cloud” fished the sod banks behind Margate this week and limited out on tog. Their largest fish was 6.5 pounds. These fish were all caught on green crabs. Also, he bagged a bass on a green crab that weighed in at 11 pounds. Ed and Brian Cyzewski fished in the same neighborhood (behind Margate and Longport) and limited out in just over an hour. They also were using green crabs.
    Large perch 1to 1.5 pounds continue to be taken on blood worms up the Great Egg Harbor River and also in the creeks.
    Finally earlier today Don Carty and Aldo Ramos fished the Ocean City fishing pier and caught mid-sized blue fish using finger mullet. This is the earliest we’ve had blues reported in many years and we hope it bodes well for the rest of the season.
    More next week;
    T.C.

    I went by the Beasleys Point bridge on my way south on the parkway. There were 7 or 8 guys fishing there. I decided to stop on my way back to see how they were doing.
    When I got back the bridge was empty. I stopped in Brennans on my way home. George told me one of the guys fishing the bridge had stopped by with a nice bass. I went to the OC fising pier. Things were slow there. They caught some skates. I suggested that they watch the video- Eat a ray, Save the bay.

    One Asian gentleman had a nice sized tog from the pier. I wanted to take a picture of him with it but he wouldn't let me.
