Brennan Marine, Somers Point, Fishing report 12-19
December 18, 2011
This will be the last report of the year and as fate would have it the fishing around here has begun to pick up.
Our bridge fishermen report that tog can still be had on green crabs and fish of some size have been taken.
This week Al Rocks fished the GE Inlet on four occasions and ended up with a total of six keepers and caught nineteen fish overall. He was on board his boat the “Brutus” and fished both bars. He was using bunker and reported seeing lots of birds and bait and fish crashing the surface. It appears as though some of the oceanic bass are beginning to make their way up the rivers. The largest fish Al had was 38 inches in length and weighed in at 20.15 pounds. Bob Cummings and crew on his boat “Lady J” fished the Delaware Bay this week and also had a number of nice bass. The biggest fish weighed in at just north of 30 pounds. He also was using bunker.
We have had reports of ling being caught around the bridges and some of our customers had travelled to the deep water reefs and taken large sea bass.
Thanks to all for their patronage in 2011, we look forward to seeing everyone again in 2012 and wish all the best for a safe, happy, healthy holiday season.
No more next week;
