Fishing was at the top of its game this week from Flounder and Weakfish on whole squid and minnows to the offshore action tuna, Wahoo, Swordfish and Sailfish from the Toms to the Baltimore Canyons and in to the Sea Isle Ridge.
On Monday Skip Compton weighed in 2 Flounder 9,90 lbs 29” and 5.10 lbs. 23”. Ron Kovler was at the Lindy and weighed in a 41.5 lbs 41” Yellow Fin. Mario on the “North Cote” did a overnight at the Spencer Canyon and had 6 Yellow Fin, 7 Dolphin and a 100 lb. Mako.
On Friday Jay Turchi on the “Pit Bull” had a 46” Yahoo at the East Lump.
In spite of the rough seas there were a lot of boats that tried to get out Ron Kovler was back at it on the “Next Case” and weighed in a 49 lb Yellow Fin, Bob Traa on the “Reel Affair” spent Friday night in to Saturday in the Toms, they weighed in a 67 ¾ lb and 76 lb. Yellow Fin and had 12 more a 75 lb Swordfish, 20 chick dolphin and a small Mako. The “Argonaut” with Jay Rader and Charles Tum did the overnight in the Spencer and had a 300lb Blue Marlin, 2 -35lb Wahoo a 50lb Yellow Fin and a 20lb Mahi. Dennis Dobrowdski on the “Crown Royal” boated a 25 lb. Tuna and a 47” Wahoo trolling between the AC Ridge and the 28 mile wreck. Bill Gentile Jr., Rusty Cain and Mike on the “Load Shark” boated a Blue Fin while trolling out to the 28 Mile Wreck.
The catch of the week goes to the “Christy Liz” 3 miles outside of the Sea Isle Ridge boated a 6 ½ ft. Sailfish on Saturday (Pictures in the Brennan Marine photo gallery).
