Fishing this week was off and on due to wave heights that prohibited anglers from getting offshore.

Inshore, tog have been taken off the sod banks behind Margate and around the bridges. Although the current limit is one fish, many of our regulars report lots of nice fish in the 16 to 20 inch range and many four and five pound fish have been taken. All of these fish have been caught on green crabs. Snapper blues and sea bass can also be found in abundance around the bridges and in the back bays and bite anything from clams to spearing, minnows, and/or squid.
Stripers have begun to show up and Sally Deacon bagged a 30 inch fish near the Ocean City toll bridge using a live spot.
Spot have shown up in huge numbers and anglers using Sabiki rigs and Fish Bites or blood worms have been able to load up. Kingfish continue to be found in the surf and bloodworms or blood worm alternatives seem to be doing the trick.
We are running a fall Striper tournament with weekly prizes, end of the month cash awards and an end of tournament raffle. Contact us for further information; it will be a good way to kick off the fall bass season.
We look forward to a great fall fishing season and have kept our summer hours in effect.
More next week.
