Bluefish Everywhere!
Went out yesterday for about an hour to make sure the boat was running alright and decided to wet a couple lines. In an hour we had 9 bluefish all between 3 and 5 pounds. The Raritan Bay is full of bluefish. We caught ours on Stretch 25's in chrome, trolling the Reach.

Pretty much the same experience here.
We started the day early in Great Kills for bunker. Then we headed to the NW side of old orchard. We were anchored with 20 or so other boats; I did not see one bent rod.
The wind picked up we tried our hand at liveling bunker near the 7s; which produced nada. Last resort was trolling the 25 and some smaller bunker spoons. Which produced as you stated the mutant gigantic blue fish. Where are the bass this year? It seems really slow...... Any idea on what the deal with the Dragger who was boarded by the coasties in Belford? |
