Bill's Sport Shop/The Wharf Restaurant Tournament

The Wharf Restaurant in Lewes is the location this year for the striper/tautog Friday night buffet. The 2010 Striper Tournament will be held from Oct. 15th till Dec. 10th. The entry fee is $75.00 and an additional $25.00 for tautog. It includes a free T shirt and free buffet for you and a guest every Fri. night. First place for the striper winner this year will be $3000.00, 2nd place, $2000.00 and third, $1000.00. In the tautog category, 1st place will be $1000.00, 2nd, $500.00 and third, $250.00.

Capt. Chet Harer has donated a full day, inshore trip, on the "Katydid" for the top female angler in Bill's Sport Shop/The Wharf Restaurant Striper Tournament. You know that the ladies always out-fish the guys!

During this tournament, there will be 9 Friday night Buffets. At these gatherings, we will be giving away about 20 door prizes, including a 1/2 day charter every week. Thanks to the following Captains for their donations:

Fishing News

>John Seery, Sweedsboro, NJ, caught a .96 lb, 13" kingfish at Dewey Beach on fresh mullet.

>Matt and Dan Langdon trolled the Hot Dog and caught 1 yellowfin, 1 gaffer dolphin, and 8 falsies on green machines and ballyhoo.

>IRI had lots of blues to 6 lb on bucktails and assorted metals.

>Surf fishermen can expect to find king fish, sharks and skate. In the fall months, the flounder and striper show up along with blues.

>Striper and flounder are being caught at Masseys Landing.

>Site 10 has a load of croaker waiting to be harvested along with some decent keeper flounder and some weakfish.

>Tau tog opened today! You will find them in the rocks at the IRI and also at Sites 10 and 11, the Outer and Inner Wall and the Haystacks.

>The canyons still have white and blue marlin and dolphin.

>A customer reported this morning that Petersfield ditch is LOADED with large crabs. He got his limit in 1 1/2 hours.
