2010 Bill's Sport Shop Annual Flea Market

Only 3 days away from our Flea Market. One space will be available to each vendor-with no exceptions. Manufacturers' Reps will be available to demonstrate their new products: Shimano, Aqua Clear, Maws Tails, Saltwater Fly Anglers of Delaware, Eagle Claw, DMS, The Fisherman Magazine, Coastal Fisherman, Marty Downs of Marty's Lures, and St. Croix. St. Croix is offering a free hat ($20.00 value) with the purchase of a rod. The Star Rod rep will be here with Star's entire product line. He will be featuring all new products and even have a few hats to give away. Several local charter captains will be taking reservations for upcoming trips. We will also begin accepting registration for Bill's Sport Shop 2010 Flounder Tournament. Deli 88 will be open early for coffee and breakfast.

Fishing News

Bob Zak sent us a picture of a large striper he nailed.

Jordan Jones was fishing the Broadkill with bloods and landed a 4.24 lb carp at 21".

A customer reported his friend was in IR Bay on two occasions and caught 4 keeper flounder one day and 5 keepers another.

Bubba Hazzard and John Hastings ran north in the De. Bay to catch stripers to 18 lbs. on live surf clams. (Live surf clams are available at Bill's by the bushel, special order only).

John Ingraham, of Rehoboth Beach, was using bloods in the Broadkill River and caught 7 white perch including a citation that hit the scales at 1.12 lb.

HD Parsons of Fisherman's Wharf reported on Capt. Bill's Friday evening sports radio show that Captain Ricky Yakomovich ran the "Thelma Dale IV" up the De. Bay and caught 15 keeper tau tog.

Paul Pergeonelis caught a citation tog using shrimp on board the "Little Angler" with Capt Chet.

Capt. Chet Harer also sent us an email: "Fishing up the bay for the stripers is from good to outstanding depending on the day. On Friday we had the Milton Posse out and kept 12 to about 21 pounds with Uncle Walt getting the big one. On Saturday had heavy fog and a cold windy side roll and had 8 nice fat fish for our All Stars....hope the bite holds up....lots of fun fishing. We plan to target the tog more as the water warms and the bite becomes more consistent."

Flounder Regulation

A decision on the 2010 flounder regs will be decided by May 1st and go into effect May 11th. Until then, 2009 regulations are in force. The creel limit is still 4 fish at 18 1/2".We have it on reliable information that the responses to the 4 proposals were 65% for Option #1 4 Fish at 18.5” closed season Oct 13 to Dec 31.
