The Bill's Sport Shop/Bethany Blues Fall 2009 Striper Tournament is in its last three weeks. Marty Fidler was the grand raffle prize winner, with a 1/2 day charter presented by Chris Ragni of the "Jam Man Charters".
The Jolly Trolley transported guests from Bill's parking lot across the street and dropped them off in front of the restaurant. They made several trips over and kept a vigilant eye on guests returning. The Staff at Bethany Blues thanks us for our efforts to keep spaces open for their dinner crowd.
FISHING NEWS
We have been in contact with a lot of the other area tackle shops, including Rick's, Lewes Harbor and Oyster Bay and everybody agrees that between IDA and the recent Nor'easter fishing came to a screaming halt. Before the storm, anglers throughout the area were having banner days catching limits of tog, stripers, some blues and even flounder. With beach conditions changing daily, call DSSP, 227-2800 or CHSP, 645-8983 to check for access to the beach.
IRBA's Turkey Week Striper Tournament
This is the second year for the tournament that is held Thanksgiving week. The captains meeting takes place on Saturday, November 20th, from 3 to 6pm at the Greene Turtle in Lewes. They will have a DJ playing music and the Greene Turtle will provide a great spread of food and drink for the tournament participants. Fishing takes place throughout the week with participants fishing two out of seven days. This makes it easy to avoid the bad weather and the crowds and get in some good striper fishing. The entry fee is only $150 per boat if anglers sign up before 11/14 and $200 after that. The anglers can fish Bill's Sport Shop’s Tournament, Rick's Tournament, Lewes Harbour Tournament and the IRBA Tournament as long as they entered in each one. The eligible fish must be weighed in at the individual tackle shop.
