Big Jamaica report 3-4-11

Cod fishing was good today. We had some nice keepers up to 20LBS and plenty of action all day.

The pool winner was:

Joe Dressner from Canadaigua NY with a 20LB cod and 6 more cod,

Bob Morris from Trenton NJ caught 8 cod to 14LBS,

Pat Ward from Phila PA caught 7 cod.

The fish were spread around the boat and everyone caught fish today. Some were caught on jigs at one wreck.

The Big Jamaica will sail for cod every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 4AM and 3AM on Sunday’s. Friday night’s we are scheduled to sail offshore at 11PM through March.

There is still plenty of good fishing ahead. When we used to have cod in our area we would catch them right into May. March and April should be good months for cod fishing.

Big Jamaica fishing Report 2-28-11

Sunday cod fishing produced about 45 - 50 keepers for the day. We hit several wrecks and would get a quick shot and then would sometimes pick. Some wrecks we would just get a shot and then move on.

The recent pool winners were:

Tom Nam from Morganville NJ with a 10LB cod.

Ken Diamond from Delran NJ with an 11LB cod.

Greg Snack from Mt Joy PA landed 5 cod,

There is still plenty of good fishing ahead. When we used to have cod in our area we would catch them right into May. March and April should be good months for cod fishing.

The Big Jamaica is scheduled to sail for cod every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through March.

This week we will sail 4AM on Wednesday and Thursday.

Friday night we will sail offshore at 11PM fishing the wrecks 50 miles and beyond.

Sunday is a 3AM cod Special.
