Striped Bass Report
11-18 Report
Striped bass fishing was excellent today. Everyone on board caught their limit of bass plus a few bonus fish up to 39" and lots of throwbacks. There were also a few blues up to 18.5LBS. Fishing was good all day long from 2 to 6 miles from Brielle. We worked the same areas from Manasquan to Spring Lake and read loads of bass and caught them.
All types of jigs were productive today. The best method today was to drop the jig to the bottom and then retrieve it at a moderate speed. Jigging on the bottom did not produce many bites. Later in the trip a slower retrieve worked better. The largest striper today was 39" and the largest blue weighed 20LBS. I fished for less than half of the day myself today and caught 3 from 28" - 36" and at least 12 more from 26 to 28".
There are plenty of bass just east of Brielle, a little north of Brielle, and also to the south. Striped bass fishing should be good all week and into December. The big Jamaica will sail for Striped Bass every day at 7:30AM except for this Saturday when we will be on a special 12HR. "Mud Hole Marathon" wreck trip. There is space available for this trip.
We also have a special sailing time on Thanksgiving Day for Striped Bass sailing 6AM - 12 Noon.
