    Big brother watching you...maybe!!!

I talked to my brother in law about this two weeks ago when he found out, as he know's those involved. Obviously, I don't know all the details, and I'm no lawyer, but, this is $%@#'d up!! From what I understand, Dean was installing curtains on his boat, was laying on the floor around the stern and noticed the box. According to him, it was magnatized to a fixed metal plate that had been screwed into the boat. There are at least 5 other guys that have discovered the same exact plate's, minus the box/becon/locator. What's screwed up is he called the police, and DNR show's up 15 minutes later wanting access to his boat!?!?! Bomb tech jumped on board and just yanked it out and gave it to DNR official!?!?!? I'm also NOT a bomb tech, but, no way in hell, anyone just walks up and removes a "suspicious" object with a flashing light and antenna. Something sounds fishy and this could get interesting.

It only takes a few bad apples to ruin it for the honest people.

Maybe I've watched too much Peoples Court...but, isn't there something about "probable cause" getting search warrants, etc...?? Physically affixing a tracking device to multiple vessels, without vessel owners knowledge. This isn't a freaking homeland security issue...again, total bs!

No doubt an invasion of privacy or some form of a violation of rights......not to mention vandalisim.....they screwed a metal plate to a piece of private property....I would lawyer up, since the police were called some for of documentation must exist so the DNR cant totally cover it up.

Funny part, Dean called police, yet DNR show's up. He won't let DNR on boat, so bomb tech shows up, jumps right on boat, and pulls "device" out and hands it to DNR. Now, DNR has no comment!?!?! They might have the "device" but, Dean and the others have the plates, which just happen to have seriel numbers. Lawyers are already involved, its about to get interesting as some local legislators are asking questions as well.

Makes you believe that the police were already aware of the devices, to call DNR before coming there to inspect a possible bomb sounds fishy

What type of fishing are the targeted boats involved in? I saw a comment on the news story that said 6000 lbs of striped bass were found in an illlegal gillnet down there. Sounds fishy, hehe

Without knowing any of the details and any of the players I would assume that he is in fact part of an active investigation and the device he found was most likely was a court approved tracking device similar to how cops can get a warrant to track an individuals movements in his vehicle through the use of Onstar.

Just by doing a public search of his name in the Maryland courts, Mr. Price has been no stranger to the NRP and Natural Resources violations. From 1992 to 2009 he has had 22 cases in the Maryland court system involving natural resources.

If I was a betting man and I am I would bet that big brother has a very good reason for watching.
