Got invited out with my old friend and charter captain, Steve Spinelli on the Skylarker II. Met up at Belmar Marina at 6 and got right out into thick fog and a heavy swell. We headed off of Spring Lake and made three drops all day. Even with the bottom stirred from the storm yesterday and the swell the toggies were chewin'.
We boxed a pile of fish with limit catches for all 5 of us that jumped onboard with him. The biggest was just short of the ten-pound mark but there were very few throwbacks and most fish were a minimum of 3 pounds. The day ended up being beautiful with the fog burning off and the sun warming a cold morning.
It was a great day, and my fridge is bursting with prime grade tog meat. Never took any pics, was too busy catching but we all know what a cooler full of tog looks like anyway.![]()
