That is where the fishing has been hot, typically the fish move out by the ammo pier or out to roamer shoals this time of year once they leave the flats, haven't heard many reports. I'd say roamer shoals should be holding some good fish right now. There are a lot of charter boats fishing for flounder, if they aren't around you they then the fish are elsewhere, the party boats do not move around as much as charters will, especially for flounder.

guy behind me in the marina had 40 on the flats on Saturday. other people had only a few , it has been very hit or miss. Fish only bite for about 45 minutes and seem to be about the mid tide based on my experience the last 2 Wednesday's

Two friends of mine have been fishing the river, the bite has been just ok there and seemed very sluggish for most this weekend, the bite in the bay was more reliable. Like hotshot says, from all the reports I've heard it has been slow except for a short little spurt of a bite throughout the day. Flounder are typically on their way out by this time of the month. Heard there are some bass around, when the poundin' gets to be slow like this, it's usually time to switch over and find the stripers.

try putting your bait in the water and try brown rice instead of white rice.

the blues have invaded the Navesink... flounder fishing is not going to be easy.. Our precious bass are going to be eating left overs and bunker heads.
