ANGLER FISHING REPORTS
FLUKE FISHING EVERY DAY - STRIPER FISHING EVERY NIGHT

September 8, 2010 - Tough conditions again today with a southerly swell and west wind, but we had another good day of Fluke fishing. Frank Kocun from Woodbridge, NJ took the pool with a 5 pound Fluke and Barbara Sullivan from Milltown, NJ was right behind him. Richard Fox from Carlstadt, NJ came up with four keepers. We did not have the big fish we had yesterday, but we know where they went. Tomorrow should be a great day with a west wind and a flat ocean in the forecast.

Big John -
September 7, 2010 - We had tough drifting conditions today, but very good Fluke fishing. We started the day in Sandy Hook channel with good fishing - a lot of short fish and some keepers. When a strong ebb tide hit us, we moved to the southeast where we had some more nice fish until the wind went into the south and killed the drift. We then moved in towards the beach, where we had very good fishing with really nice fish. Big John had the pool with an 8 1/4 pound Fluke. And this was after he lost a big one that broke his rod! Johnny B was high hook with five keepers for a total weight of 20 pounds. Great job! We had 28 fares today and they had a total of 35 keeper Fluke with a total weight of 105 pounds.
According to the rules associated with the special RSA permit, we cannot fillet Fluke until after we get back to the dock, which was after 2:30 PM today. Mates Brian and Christine had the fish filleted and everyone off the boat before 3:00 PM. Great mates!
From what I saw today and yesterday there are more Fluke around after the storm than at any other time this year. There are five party boats in the area with RSA permits and we are all working together so you can all catch some post-season Fluke. Come on down a jump on any one of us. We all took a gamble and it looks like it will pay off.

September 5, 2010 - It was a beautiful day on the ocean and we had good Fluke fishing. We tried the Bay first, but the drifting conditions were bad so we took a ride to the ocean. We found plenty of shorts there with a fair amount of nice Fluke and Sea Bass to sweeten the pot.
Russ Buchinsky from Matawan, NJ got an 8 pound Fluke to take the pool and his wife Susan also had a nice keeper. Howard Manger from West Orange, NJ bagged 5 and 6 pound Fluke.
Tomorrow is the last day that a 10 pound Fluke takes 1/2 the $2,420 Big Pool. WE WILL BE FLUKE FISHING AFTER MONDAY WITH OUR SPECIAL RSA PERMIT and the Big Pool will continue to the end of our season (the biggest fish wins it.)
September 3, 2010 - Starting TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, the ANGLER will SAIL EVERY DAY for FLUKE
from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM during the month of September. We have a SPECIAL RSA PERMIT that allows us to continue Fluke fishing after the normal season ends on September 6. The fares are $60 adult, $55 senior, and $30 child.
IMPORTANT: The ANGLER is chartered on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 and will NOT be sailing on the morning trip.
Our 5:00 PM Striper trip will sail as scheduled.
