Angler party Fishing report , Atlantic Highlands 2-6

February 4, 2012 – A beautiful day on the water with good conditions, but slower Ling fishing than we have had. Most guys ended up with 10 to 20 Ling, which is great for February, but less than we were catching. There were more Mackerel than we have seen and some big Blackfish and Cod. No Dogfish again today and we had plenty of banana Cod on a few drops.

Rey Mariquit from Kendall Park, NJ got a 9 pound Tog and won the pool.

    NO GALLEY UNTIL MONDAY

Billy Wagner - February 3February 3, 2012 – The big question today was, where did this wind come from? The weather forecast called for 10 to 15 NW all week, and then late last night, they slipped in gusts to 30. Well, it sure felt like winter today and it made feeling the bite difficult for most of the morning. Most guys managed and we ended up with another good catch of Ling along with some nice Tog around the boat. For the first time this year, there were quite a few Mackerel around. Billy Wagner from Wayne, NJ won today's pool with a nice Tog.

The weekend weather is looking great. NO GALLEY TILL MONDAY.

Bill Tice - February 2February 2, 2012 – We had another very good day of Ling slinging with around 600 fish on board today. Bill Tice from Staten Island, NY took the pool with a Tog. Steve 'Z-man' Zaretsky just missed the pool today.

We're loving it, and it brings back memories of times gone by. This is the good Ling fishing we had 30 to 40 years ago. We used to say when the Whiting aren't biting then Ling is the thing. We fished these same grounds back then in the middle of winter and it often carried right into spring. The sad part is most of those old time captains are either gone or not in the business and most of those fishermen are also gone.

The weather looks good for the next 3 days so come on down and get your share!
