[Fishing Report]

September 30, 2011 - The ANGLER has not been out fishing since Monday. Today, we decided to head south. There were only a few porgies on the Reef, so we went to the Rocks. We found loads of perch, but just a few Porgies and Tog. We then landed a 7 foot Thresher Shark and after that, the fishing picked up a little. We think there may have been more Threshers around since the bottom fish would not settle down and chew. We ended the day up north and we were glad when it was over. Archie Stewart from Nutley, NJ won the pool with a nice Tog as he often does.

Northwest winds are forecast for tomorrow and it will be turning colder. Let's hope this does the trick and turns on the fish.

Captain Dan did okay with Striped Bass last night (Thursday) and noted the Porgies he had been catching and reading at night were not around.

The ANGLER has a charter trip on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 2. Our regular morning trip is CANCELED, but our Night Striper Trip will sail as normal at 6:30 PM.
