NJ Angler Party boat Atlantic Highlands 9-19

September 17, 2011 - Once again the wind was stronger than forecast and we were limited to where we could fish. We ended the day with 12 to 15 keeper Fluke and a good amount of shorts and birds. There is still hope for some good days since we caught fish in the shallows which may move with the cooler temps.

Mike Barotholomeo from Staten Island, NY won the pool with a 5 pound Fluke and was almost beat by his niece Alice. Notice the red sky in the East at sunrise... Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.

We will be at the boat in the morning, but the forecast is for 15 to 20 knot NE winds with gusts to 30. Not good. Tuesday looks like the next best day.

Matt - September 16We had good fishing on our Friday night trip (9/16) with 17 keeper Bass, a half-dozen throwbacks and a couple of Porgies. Matt from Middletown, NJ won the pool and high hooks were Vytas Miliauskas and Robert Jones. Fran Brantly and Gene also scored.

Val Ptashenchuic - September 15September 15, 2011 - Only a few people came down on Wednesday to enjoy what turned out to be our best Fluke fishing in a couple of weeks. All but one person had keepers and most had two, three or four keepers with loads of shorts. THE FLUKE ARE NOT GONE!!!!

Val Ptashenchuic from Staten Island, NY had three keepers up to 5 pounds and won the pool. We were the first to find these Fluke on Tuesday where we had 40 shorts on our first drift with only a couple of keepers. On Wednesday there were as many shorts but more keepers were biting and a good size fleet joined us.

The sad story today is that we did not have enough people to sail on such a beautiful morning. The rain and wind did not come until later in the day.

TEN DAYS LEFT IN THE NJ FLUKE SEASON!

BIG POOL $3,390. LEADING FISH IS A 9 POUND 7 1/2 OUNCE FLUKE

Brian Capra - September 13Amy - September 13We will have a few more good days and some days where the weather hurts us. Friday may be okay if the wind is from the Northwest and we can fish down the beach.

We had fair fishing on the Tuesday night trip with about 15 keeper Bass, 15 throwbacks, a dozen large Porgies, and a half dozen Bluefish.

The pool winner was Brian Capra from Old Bridge, NJ with a 20 pound Striper. Frank was high hook with 3 Stripers and Amy caught a nice keeper Bass.
