[Fishing Report]

November 3, 2011 – After not sailing for a week, it felt good turning the Point and seeing a pretty nice ocean. The Sheepshead Bay boats and local boats have not caught any Sea Bass since the opener. The Bay boats had good Tog fishing yesterday and were able to keep fish, while New Jersey boats caught them too, but had to release many because of the regulations.

We figured to go deeper and further out to some favorite Sea Bass drops. The swells got bigger the further we went and were 10 to 12 feet by the time we got offshore. We had some keeper Sea Bass and shorts, but it was mostly Blackfish and a few Porgies biting that had to go back. This was nothing like the fishing we had before last weekend's storm. A move further offshore produced only a couple of Ling so we headed to the mud where we got a few more keeper-sized Tog to end the day. Frank Moltisanti won the pool today with a nice Tog.

The big swell killed the Porgy and Sea Bass fishing here and we are not going to try Friday and perhaps Saturday too. We need some west wind and for the ocean to lie down before any decent catches are made. See ya on Sunday.


October 31, 2010 – Happy Halloween from Captain Danny! Andrzej Mierzwinski was the pool winner on our Friday night trip. We didn't sail on stormy and snowy Saturday, but we got out on Sunday night. The pool winner Sunday night was Matt Semevos and the runner-ups were Bill Boza and Roberto Robaina.
