6-6 Matador inshore report.... More spades

On saturday, we had the Vanasse family from Vermont down for a half day inshore. They were in town visitting their son who is in the Navy stationed at NOB Norfolk, and we had mom, dad, their son and a couple of their son's navy buddies. We were supposed to leave in the am, but I did not have a pm trip and the weather was a bit bumpy in the morning, so we went in the afternoon. We arrived at the tower and there was a decent crowd of boats. I was not looking forward to anchoring, but a fellow charter boat was finishing his limit and let me just use his anchor, which made it easy on us. We pulled in and the bite was a bit slow. There were people in the water spearfishing that would swim all around my baits. This is really disrespectful considering there was one whole side of the tower with no fishermen on it and the spearfishermen could have had that all to themselves, but wanted to spearfish in very close proximity to where we were fishing. They got out of the water and we made quick work of them, catching our limit of spades.
