5-29 Report- First limit of spades in 09 and more BIG stripers!

On 5-29, we had Kevin Orcutt and his buddies from Philadelphia aboard for a full day inshore. Beautiful, calm, hot day. We started out at the tower and to our surprise, we had it all to ourselves. We have been to the tower a couple times earlier in the year, but the water wasnt quite warm enough for the spades to bite. This time, the water was just over 70 degrees and we limitted out on nice spades in an hour with no crowds to fight. Since this was a full day trip, we had to go another direction and catch something else. We went to the bridge tunnel in hopes that my school of stripers I have been hitting all during May hadn't left and gone north yet. When we got there, we found them pretty quickly and they were willing to take the topwater plugs. There is nothing like catching forty plus inch stripers on topwater plugs. These guys were having an absolute blast catching these stripers. We made a quick limit of stripers and had a box full of fish, so we came home. This was a great inshore trip.
