With tournaments happening on both sides of the bay the reports have started to come in heavy this week. Tussey's and the 60ft slough seemed to be the hot spots (on clam) with most of the action happening on the morning tide.
Bruce Manton and his crew aboard Zero Tolerance (photo below) had a banner weekend starting off Friday night with 17 stripers and coming in on Saturday with 9 stripers, their heaviest weighing in @ 20 lbs. In addition to their striper catch, they had two drum weighing in @ 25lbs.
Saturday's rain couldn't stop these other guys. . . Leo Jordan on Ms. 151 with 34 1/2" 16lbs and let's not forget Capt. John on Sportfishermen.com, he came in with 4 keepers between 20 and 24 lb along with the quote of the day "It was wet, wet, and very wet".
Capt. George Smith with Heavy Hitter Sportfishing also reported 7 stripers between 34-40" and 6 drum (heaviest 65lbs) on Saturday along with 6 stripers (34"-38") and another 10 drum ranging from 30-50lbs on Sunday.
Drum fishing seems to be picking up with the reports progressing as the week went by. So far it looks like that Tussey's is the place to be.
