    4th of July Stripers

Fished way north of Manasquan early Friday to find concentrations of bait. We managed to pull a fish off a bunker pod despite every boat in the world being out.

I'm not really sure how my Father managed to get one on this weekend, but it was a great show to watch.

We got mugged the second the net came out, so that was the end of that, but we were psyched to get one in.

I screwed up the fish angle, but it was a nice one.

    Happy Independence Day!

You're a brave man bassin on a holiday weekend, glad it paid off.

I don't use a net, nor let people see a bend in the rod for just the reason you mentioned

Yup. I can be a real pain in the a$$ about that at times.

Learned that really fast working on a party boat as a kid. You want to see a bunch of boats swarm you, break a net out on a party boat... Same goes for a nice bend in the rod, as you say.

I know better but sometimes I know it's no use and/or I just enjoy the moment. I guess this weekend was one of them.

One guy got so tight on it I asked him to let me know when he was done.
