    2009 JCSA Striper Tournament

I fished the Jersey Coast Shark Anglers Striped Bass Tournament on Miss Linda this weekend. Every boat in the world was out and everyone seemed to be heavy on the throttles. We got out late with no-shows on half the crew and missed the morning bite off Manasquan, but did manage to get a fish in the box.

Reports were that there were 35's caught early Saturday, as well as "slobs" on Sunday so we thought there was no chance. We were pretty psyched to find we stayed on top and took the tournament with our 38.00lb/46.5'' linesider.

This was the first tournament for Miss Linda and her first win.

    What a great weekend!

Great catch Rob... not at all surprised to see you in the thick of things.

(or that you made it out late... haha)

    Seyff,

How did I know that was coming?

The best part of waking up late is finding out that someone flipped off the livewell by accident ...and you missed the early bite. ...AND big fish were caught.

We were quite happily surprised at the end of the day.
People kept telling me they had big fish, bites were going off, there was going to be a last minute weigh-in. I was actually told we wouldn't even place.

In the end, we had a great time and did OK. I'm stoked.

    Fish Size

I mentioned that I had a lot of reports of people with bigger fish where the fish ended up being smaller than reported.

I just got pictures from someone who was not in the tourmament on Sunday, but called a buddy in with a "big fish."

Does anyone want to play "guess the weight?"
