Wanted to give a wrap up for the 2006 season. The fall sea bass fishing was excellent this year, if a little bit backwards from most years. September saw phenomenal fishing as per my last report. Fishing was good in October, but we saw a bunch of smaller sized fish, the kind we usually see earlier in the fall. The first couple weeks of November the sea bass fishing picked up again. On Nov. 5 the Andy Yentzer party landed 115 nice sea bass (many 2-4 pound fish) plus their limit catch of tog -
On the 15th of November, we switched over to full time tog fishing, and it was one of the best falls I can ever remember, limit catches on almost all trips. We caught a number of double digit tog, and I'm happy to report we released most of them.
Charlie had this brute 11 pound fish (I believe the only double digit fish we kept this fall) -
The tog fishing held up right through the month of January (as did the Captain after falling and breaking a bone in his foot on Christmas Eve) with some phenomenal "winter" weather. As is usually the case, late season brings out some big fish as Dave shows with this 12+ pound tog prior to release -
Not to be outdone, Bob topped the fall landings with this big 13+ pound whitechin captured (and released) on Jan. 24th -
It is already the end of January, and we escaped the typical worst of winter. The days are getting longer and the sun is getting stronger, spring will be here soon. Thanks for reading my reports, full reports and hundreds of more photos are available on my website at www.karenannii.com.
