19 thursday on chazin tale

fished with captain rob haines from chazin tail. he is quite a captain that puts you on fish everytime. not to mention his boat is absolutely awesome. takes the water well comfortable and dry ride.
a bit bumpy on the way out at 3am. started on the hook chunking and jigging on the outside of the 19 without a touch for the first hour. moved inside marked fish and anchored up. hooked up on a jigging rod with a shimano butterfly jig almost immediately. the fish came unbuttoned so i dropped it down again and hooked up. my son reeled in a 53 inch bluefin on the jigging rod in about 15 minutes. decided to drift the rest of the day. the captain jigged up another on a jigging rod with a spinning reel. the fish was another over at about 56 inches so we released the fish. headed home at about 12:30. nice smooth ride in at 32 knots.
we had a great day with lots of laughs and some meat for the grill.
very few boats at the lump and fish were not thick but did manage a couple. lots of spinners dolphin around and also a few jumbo sea turtles.
