19 saturday

left wildwood about 1:30am heading for 19. rough ride out. about 6:30 am boated a small bluefin at 34 inches. not another touch until about noon. unfortunately it was a slip knot at the swivel and it came untied. fished until 1pm and headed back to the dock.

heard some capts on the radio boating a few nice fish but not lots of chatter as to successes.

chunked butter with sardines for the hook.

Dude, you explained it to me, but I had no clue that's how you reeled that fish in. I can't believe that spectra didn't break when that rod exploded. Not looking good for this week bro.

Sardine Question

Joe,

Two questions as I have not fished sardines before for tuna- How do you hook the bait and what size hook do you recommend?

we used 8.0 hooks. we hooked them through the bottom jaw and out the top of the head also sewed the mouth shut and buried the hook.

it was my first time with sardines also so i am not sure what the best method would be.
