Capt. Francis Bogan
Sea Bass • Ling • Cod
Tuesday's Deep Water Ling trip was a little slow with a lot of wind and some conflicting current. We had some Ling and Cod on the boat but it was not what we have grown accustomed to seeing on these trips (yes, the Ling have spoiled us again this year!) Wednesday's trip was much better with anglers landing a dozen to 18 Ling around the boat with high hooks in the low twenties with a number of Cod (both keepers and throwbacks) showing up as well. Dave Thompson from Bristol, PA had 3 cod and 12 Ling, Bob Reiley from Orange, NJ had 17 Ling, Allan Lorenz from Easton, PA had 21 Ling and 2 Cod, Chris Seaton from Wildwood, NJ had 19 Ling and a Cod and Chris Mace from West Orange, NJ won the pool with a nice 15lb. Cod.
We did not sail on Thursday. Fridays marathon saw the return of the Sea Bass along with quite a few Ling as well. We had quite a few throwback Sea Bass on Friday as well as a legitimate 4 to 6 keepers per man. Combined with anywhere from half a dozen to a dozen Ling each it made for a very good day with lots of action. John Tomass from Newark, NJ had 6 keeper Sea Bass and 12 Ling, Pete Josephs from Flemington, NJ had 8 Sea Bass and 9 Ling, George Peters from Trenton, NJ had 5 Sea Bass and 14 Ling, Dave Simpson from Hamilton, NJ had 6 Sea Bass and 12 Ling and Bill Miller from Bristol, PA had 7 Sea Bass, 11 Ling and won the pool with a nice fat 4lb. Sea Bass.
Our Marathons sail every Monday & Friday from 6:30am to 5:00 pm. Our Marathons offer a longer day, enabling the captain to hit more or further spots, whatever is needed and are starting the day targeting Sea Bass and are also catching Ling and Cod.
Our Thursday, Saturday and Sunday trips will sail from 6:30am till 3:30pm and are targeting Sea Bass, Ling and Cod.
Our Deep Water Wreck Specials sail every Tuesday and Wednesday fishing the deep drops in the Mudhole and other areas for Ling, Cod and Pollock (do not expect Sea Bass on the Deep Water Trips)
