Cod, Ling & more Cod!!

We continue to see a significant number of Cod on our daily trips and Marathons in addition to some Ling as well. Cod fishing has ranged from slow to fair on a couple days to very good on several days, and we even had a nice shot of Ling on a couple of trips in addition to the Cod.

While most of the Cod have been in the 3 to 6 pound range, along with significant numbers of shorts, there have been a few larger fish caught as well.

Some catches of note over the past few days were:

Walt Miller from Trenton, NJ with 10 Ling, Roy Janis from Quakertown, PA with 11 Ling, Domenico Mozeli from Allentown, NJ was one of our pool winners with a 15 pound Cod, Mark Tinison from Bricktown, NJ had 7 Ling and 6 Cod, Joe Poppa from Toms River, NJ had a pool winning 19 pound Cod on one of our trips and also landed 4 Ling and 6 additional keeper Cod. Steve Strodel from Hackettstown, NJ had 5 Cod and 5 Ling.

While we made it out on Sunday, the wind never let up and made fishing conditions VERY difficult. Between the rough seas and strong current only a handful of fish were caught on Sunday.

Most trips are now catching mostly Cod and Ling.

Our Monday and Friday Marathons sail every Monday & Friday from 6:30am to 5:00 pm. Our Marathons offer a longer day, enabling the captain to hit more or further spots, whatever is needed and are catching Cod and Ling.

Our Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday trips will sail from 6:30am till 3:30pm and are catching Cod & Ling.

Starting Monday, February 28th our Monday and Friday Marathons will be sailing from 5:00am till 5:00pm to take advantage of the excellent Cod fishing!
