Updated 11/28/10
Capt. Francis Bogan
Ling• Cod • Blackfish • Sea Bass
When we were able to get out this past week we had some decent Ling fishing with a smattering of Sea Bass on a couple of trips. Blackfish have been caught on most every trip as well and have been the pool winner unless a nice Cod comes up.
Most trips are now catching a mix of Ling, Cod and Blackfish with a few Sea Bass mixed in as they slowly move out of our local waters.
Some catches of note from the past week were Bolo and Nick Smith from Philadelphia with a combined 52 Ling and 4 Sea Bass, John Hart from Tenafly, NJ had 21 Ling, Mark Mansione from Newark, NJ had 3 Sea Bass, 2 Blackfish and 12 Ling, Don Fratella from Wilmington, DE had a pool winning Blackfish of about 5 pounds this week and also had 2 Sea Bass and 14 Ling. Peter Mallone from Jackson, NJ was also one of our pool winners this week with a big Ling.
Most days saw fishermen average 8 to 12 Ling and a blackfish or two with a couple days having averages of 15 to 20 per man just depending on the day. A couple dozen Sea Bass have been boated as well on most days, but expect their numbers to keep dwindling as the temperatures drop.
Our Deep Water Ling Special will still sail every Wednesday from 6:30am till 3:30 pm targeting Ling and Cod on the deep water drops and in the Mudhole.
Our Monday and Friday Marathons sail every Monday & Friday from 6:30am to 5:00 pm. Our Marathons offer a longer day, enabling the captain to hit more or further spots, whatever is needed and are catching Ling, Cod, Blackfish and a few Sea Bass.
Our Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday trips will sail from 6:30am till 3:30pm and are catching Ling, Cod, Blackfish and a few Sea Bass.
