Winter Ling Fishing
Between windy weather and Coast Guard inspection this week we only made it out a couple of days. Saturday the conditions were bad with wind and seas and the fish did not want to bite. We picked a few Ling and some eels but that was it.
Sunday the conditions improved and we were able to catch a few more fish. We landed a couple dozen Ling around the boat, a few throw back Cod and a 5lb. Cod was the pool winner. As long as conditions are favorable we can get some Ling in the boat, as usual the weather is the single biggest factor this time of year.
The Paramount is sailing every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday for Ling from 6:30am to 3:30pm
Our Monday & Friday Marathons are also targeting Ling. Trips sail every Monday & Friday from 6:30am to 5:00 pm. Our Marathon offers a longer day, enabling the captain to hit more or further spots, whatever is needed.
The Paramount will have several Hungry Man Ling Marathons sailing in February. Trips sail from 5:00am till 5:00pm on February 15th and 19th. Space on these trips is limited so advance reservations are recommended.

Winter Ling Fishing
We FINALLY had some nice weather several days in a row this past week so we were able to sail a bit more the past few days than previous weeks.
Fishing started off decent on Thursday, with Noel Westerlind from Leonardo landing 17 nice Ling and a 6 lb. Blackfish. Roger Lee from Parlin, NJ had 8 Ling and a 5lb. Pollock and Bill Moyers from Philadelphia had 7 Ling.
Friday, despite beautiful conditions, the fish simply did not cooperate. Sam Jacobs from Philadelphia won the pool with a 5lb. Cod, but while the eels were plentiful the Ling were not!
Saturday the fishing improved again, and most anglers had from 5 to 10 Ling each. Mark Stanton from Wall, NJ, John Swoop from Trenton, Paul Anderson from Philadelphia, Andy Johnson from Teaneck, NJ, Bill Peters from Reading, PA and Edward Roberts from Jackson, NJ all had from 5 to 10 Ling each. Martin Keller from Hamilton, NJ had 12 Ling for the high hook and Jeff Schwarz from Lake Hiawatha, NJ won the poll with a beautiful 25+ pound Pollock!
