I had a bottom fishing trip today with NORM and CHRIS on board with me. We headed out to 60 to 70ft of water figuring that with the NE blow we just had that the fish would have gone deep. And they did. When we got to our spot the screen was loaded with marks and as soon as our bait got to the bottom we had fish on the hook. The action started with nice Sea Bass up to 16" and then the Weakfish started to bite. We kept a dozen weakfish up to about 19" and put back a mess of small ones. The croakes made a showing and we only kept the ones that were big. To top off the the day we got into nice Bluefish around 3 to 4lbs. When all was said and done we made a mess out of the fish box. You got to like seeing a bloody fish box. Not bad for a day on the water.
Just a reminder that I am booking STRIPED BASS trips for the last half of October thru the mid part of December. I'll be taking the boat down to UTSCH'S MARINA in CAPE MAY NJ this weekend. There are still some dates open. We will be fishing in and around the CAPE MAY RIPS. Call or email me to get info or to book a trip. See you at the dock.
