1 Dec 09 CBBT High Rise Eeling

Did an after work trip with co-worker Ken, his friend Al, and my son Michael Jr. Fished from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm on the incoming in 40 feet of water ocean side. 3 eels on bobbers and 2 without using 8.0 Gamakatsu Octipus Circle hooks. Inline weights varied from 2 to 5 ounces adjusted as the current moved faster. As soon as the current started moving we started catching.

Ended the night with 7 nice fat stripers and only 1 dog shark:

47 inches (release citation for Ken)
46 inches (release citation for Al)
    2 - 44 inchers (kept)
    2 - 40 inchers (kept)
    38 inches (released)

    Ken's nice 47 incher, released. :clapping2:

    Al's 46 incher, released. :clapping2:

A double for Ken and Al.

My son Michael Jr. who was glad he came along.

And me who also got to crank.

Thanks to Robert (Playinhookie) who hooked me up with some eels. Nice way to spend the night. Circle hooks performed very well with all fish hooked in the corner of the mouth. Looking forward to the next trip.

    Sea Bright

    Hello
New to the site. Awsome layout. I am new to the area about 3 yrs. I catch fish but have always had the desire to fish for sharks from the beach. I have had hammerheads in fl. from the beach some to big to land(I pussed out after 4 hours) but I know there are big sharks close in (but when is best time of year to endevor the time needed to wait and wait.) I ve spoke to old timers that say oh ya there there. south beach sandy hook. threshers tigers, blue tips. should i kite fish or close in ? I WOULD THINK TIP OF THE HOOK BEST i DO NOT KNOW ?
any informative comment would be greatly appreciated. oh i am getting boat next season. i know there out there 15 miles or so. To fight a big shark from the beach is the ultimate fight and land. brink your rope
