Zinks Money Maker--- I'll be damned
Beyond a doubt, I have flung several hundred dollars worth of "cheap" short reed calls into the river and out the truck window in disgust--- Oh, I know it has been all due to my own incompetences, but non the less, I never gotten one to work reliably for me (at least without a nails down the blackboard--ah shit, that one was bad--- happening most every time in front of real birds). That is until I spent the money and got a Zinks Money Maker call. Oh, they are pricey all right but even right out of the box, no screeches, the call breaks easily and predicablly every time---- and I can finally get down low with it.
The long and short is that this is sold as an "advanced users call". It may be, but what it really is, is a short reed call that is easy for a beginner and sounds true from the get go.
I think I have a winner here---

Glenn,
As you know I'm not a waterfowl hunter. But still and all, I've never understood the reasoning of "cheap" when it come's to a day of hunting. I think of the addage we use in the mechanic's trade, "cheap tool's aren't good and good tool's aren't cheap". Sound's simple, but it's so true. Pay for the good stuff once, use it and forget about it. Frank

Hell, I give you credit for even blowin one of the short reeds. Being up here on the shore, I am a traditionalist with the Eastern Shoreman. I have bought many of the short reeds and had the same results as your previous; can't get anything of value out of them. Then, I pick up the shoreman and can blow a symphony!!
