save herds, s**t. save me! i don't want to walk to my stand an hour before first light, by moonlight if there are wolves in the woods . we are the apex predator. we don't eat predators, we eat prey. we spend all kind of money to keep our game at sustainable, huntable numbers and then somebody spends money, probably our money, to introduce.....dangerous predators.

we have spent lots of money to eradicate the wolves to protect livestock and game. now they are reintroduced.

i have a problem that the do gooders can work on....how to eradicate the fire ant. they are hell on ground nesting baby birds.

ok. i feel better. thanks bearhunter

yes cause the wolves and elk/deer/etc. didn't survive thousands of years with each other before man arrived, and after the native americans arrived. Wolves didn't kill all of them then, i doubt they'll kill all of them now.

Theyre not just along the coast. I have a pic off of a trail cam on the lower part of my property here in Rock Hill that we thought was a huge coyote. I showed it to one of the local game commisioners who ID'd it as a red wolf. Then he asked where on the coast the pic was taken, when I told him it was here in Rock Hill he said he must have made a mistake, that it had to be a coyote because they arent around here. In the pic the wolf/coyote is standing broadside about a foot behind a tree. I measured the tree at 10 inches in diameter. Using a divider for scale I measured the wolf at a little over 5 times the width of the tree. That is almost 50 inches or just over 4 feet. I have never seen a coyote that big, I may be mistaken about coyotes being that large but I dont think so. If I can find the pic later I will post it. Its from a couple of years back and Im not sure what PC or DVD its on.
