    NYBH,

Guess you know I'm not against hunting, but I do believe in 100% quick clean kill's (if at all possible). That said, can't say I am crazy about the idea. How was your season? Frank

I don't know that I would do it but I don't have any issue with it. No different than trapping other predators.

illegal in my state as well as others, I would have to say no for me but if I was in a real survival situation, be a great skill to know more about.

If you even want to call it hunting. I think it is the lowest of low. If you are going to hunt, have honor, and be quick and clean about it.
    Trap hunting is bs

In my mind, trapping is for vermin - like yotes - not for game animals like bears.

Look closely at the photographs.........a foot snare. Game agencies all over the country use mechanically launched foot snares as a safe means to relocate problem bears. After sedation, the snare is removed, and the animal is relocated.

Everybody has opinions, and here is mine: I hunt, I fish, and sometimes I trap problem animals. A well set killing (neck) snare is probably the most humane way to kill an animal........if you've ever had a "sleeper hold" put on you, that's the way a neck snared animal dies.......far more humane than bleeding out from an arrow through the heart.

Frankly, when I see folks write about "the lowest", all I can ask is, compared to what? I seriously doubt there is ANYONE in this forum that relishes watching any critter suffer while being harvested..........if you do, you ought to be in prison, because you're a danger to society.

Let me close with this: I hunt, but the only way I'd kill a bear is if my life was in danger. I would MUCH rather see a bear maurauding a neighborhood be caught in a foot snare, and then darted and safely removed, than to see one shot & killed. I don't rag bear hunters with snide remarks, just because I don't hunt bears. I would hope most outdoorsman would be more responsible when putting their comments to print; afterall, the radicals that dispise all forms of hunting, trapping, and fishing, LOVE to see half baked comments in a public forum like this.

YES YOUR RIGHT, THE FOOT SNARE ON THE BEARS PICTURED WHERE LATTER GIVEN A SAFE NAP AND WERE EAR TAGGED, AND GIVEN A NEW PLACE TO ROAM.

YOU SEE, SNARE HUNTING UP IN SOME PARTS OF CANADA, HAS BECOME A GROWING METHOD OF KILLING BEAR, AND MORE AND MORE OUTFITTERS ARE GETTING INTO IT, BUT THEY DO USE THE FOOT SNARE AND THE HUNTER TAKES ON THE VERY ANGRY BRUIN.

JUST WONDERING WHY, YOU WOULDN'T (HUNT) KILL A BEAR ?

COUPLE OF THINGS THAT I JUST HAVE TO REMARK ON THAT YOU MENTIONED HERE,ONE BEING HOW YOU STATE THAT AN ARROW THROUGH THE HEART AND BLEEDING OUT, WHY DO YOU HAVE A ISSUE WITH BOW HUNTING, I'M SURE YOU HAVE SEEN A GUN HUNTER SHOOT GAME IN THE HEART OR ELSEWHERE AND THE ANIMAL BLEEDS OUT, SO WHY THE ISSUE.

SEE I SAY THESE THINGS TO YOU BECAUSE, I SPEND ALLOT OF TIME BEING A HUNTER AND ALSO BEING THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HUNTER WHICH WOULD BE DEFENDING OUR RIGHT TO HUNT AND TO BEAR ARMS, I SPEND ALLOT OF TIME STANDING ON PICKET LINES AND ON COURT HOUSE STEPS STANDING UP FOR THOSE RIGHTS I BATTLE THE ANTI'S ON A CONSTANT, AND IT BOTHERS ME WHEN A HUNTER AS YOURSELF MAKES COMMENTS SUCH AS THE ONE WITH THE ARROW. SEE YOU HAVE TO BE A HUNTER ALL THE WAY THROUGH NOT JUST PICK AND CHOOSE, SO HOPEFULLY YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT I HAVE SAID HERE AND DON'T TAKE IT THE WRONG WAY.

BOTTOM LINE, SNARE HUNTING IS PART OF HUNTING, IF THOSE WHO DON'T APPROVE THAT'S OK, MOVE ON, BUT DON'T MAKE BAD WAVES.

    THE CARTOON CLIP WAS GOOD.

FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT TO HUNT...
