Wil's Solo Bowhunt

Wil has been excited for the start of bow season. Set him up in a ladder yesterday afternoon while I worked on a food plot. Had 6 sightings came to full draw once. No shot taken. Boy was he excited when I picked him up. Tonight he wanted to hunt at Pop Pop's farm in the "money" stand. Cool stand facing an oak stand with a new clover patch behind. Cool thing was I hung out in a box blind on clover patch to watch. Had 3 does show up and they hung out for about 45 minutes feeding in the clover before making their way toward Wil. They had to be in range for Wil for a while while in field, but I could tell they where 1/4 toward him. Watched with my heart pounding as two entered the woods on a trail that would pass by Wil at 20 yds and provide a perfect angle. A couple minutes later the deer left in field jumps an takes off. Phone rings "smoked her DAD".
