Wil's Long Shot
A friend invited us to work on some Doe for the last evening of Gun Hunting. Lots of action when the field started to fill with deer around 4:30. Wil was very excited watching the first group, but we where not able positively id a mature doe. They moved on then another group showed in the far corner. Picked out a nice doe waited for the broadside shot. Wil dropped the doe in its tracks. I was amazed before the shot I ranged the deer at 240 yds. I think it was more like 220, the range finder must have been picking up the trees behind the deer. This little gun just keeps getting better.
About 10 min later another group shows at around 150yds and Wil got little to anxious and missed on the 2nd shot.
Then another group comes out to the right. 3 little ones kicking each other and having a good time. Then another single shows out front, no others to reference so no shots taken. We saw more deer on this last night of the season than we had all through the rest of the gun season.
The other cool thing was "Popsy" was hunting a stand right around the corner and got to participate in the hunt via text msg. Got a "HOT DOG" after the shot via text.
