Wil's First Bunny Hunt
Nothing better than a Bunny hunt on an off day from school. Loads of sign in the thicket and the hound was on one in first 10 steps. Wil and I caught a glimpse of him trucking down the edge of the thicket, but I think the dog got on another one. Rachel got that one then we put the dog on the scent of the one Wil saw bingo, Wil got a kick out of the dog and watching him work. We get in a good spot and Wil stands still, the rabbit bust out on a full sprint. Wil knows how to work the semi-auto, from the words of our friend mister phil BANG BANG BANG no bunny. Rachel gets a shot at this one. The next was a quick run and Wil takes a long shot, no go. Then that one makes a circle and is coming toward us. I see it move into a briar patch in front of us and tell Wil get ready. Bunny made a mistake and jumped out in field 15 yards and sat still. BANG and fur is a flying. High fives. Wil's first bunny. Ran one more bunny till dark and this one would not show himself 45 minutes. What a blast.
