I don't know bout most of you but I hunt on approximately 250 acres of private property family owned to where the only people that have access to it is my family and whoever my grandpa lets hunt with him. I am so glad we don't have to deal with these assholes who think animals are more precious than life itself. I don't think these people would last too long on my families farm Don't get me wrong I don't protest on what they do so I guess that means I won't waste my time trying to figure out why they do what they do even though they wear leather jackets and leather shoes. Ask them where the leather comes from and they say the store. I ran into these people when I used to rodeo full time. I rode bulls an they would always protest and usually got their asses kicked. Well good luck to ya'll on this hunting season hope ya'lls limits or tags get filled.
Family owned land - almost 4000 acres of which maybe 1000 is huntable. Only bows are allowed. One section of about 200acres people run dogs but I don't hunt with them, I prefer to bow hunt. Only about 4 people bow hunting throughout the season.
My family has 1400 acers of rolling apple orchard here in ct . Anyone who comes off the street gets a deer permit oh yea and all there friends. Its beyond sick. I hunt there from 10 am to 2 pm when no one is around. They give out crop damage permits and the idoit who has them has never shotten a deer with out having to do it with a light or from his truck. God forbid he gets on a quad and sits somewheres. I also have 200 acers on a shooting range. My family is so tight with that I get one permit no one else is allowed to hunt it. Last clown shot 17 deer in a year. My unckle got pissed. I shot a 124 6/8 buck last year. It was my first buck ever taken.
I hunt deer in a few suburban neighborhoods w/ a bow. I have a few leases for both deer and geese, a family farm for deer, and I hunt public land/water for ducks.
I read an article about the big boys living in small areas like that. Have you hunted that way all your life or is it something you have just picked up?
Jeremy - I had to adapt, large parcels of land for hunting in Maryland are very hard to come by. You would be surprised the amount of deer that live in very populated areas. There are some real decent bucks. The pieces that I hunt are almost all bow-only, neighbors do not take to kindly to shotguns that close to their homes!
